Great news for Western Province is the fact that the 2018 Championship will feature a seventh event for the first time in more than a decade (very long ago). This relates to there being one drop event available to each team in the championship as only six of the seven rounds will be scoring towards the championship results. Darling was popular with the Adenco 400 Off Road event taking place in the area as well as a number of national championship stages many moons ago. It is somehow fitting to see the second oldest motor club in South Africa organise the fourth round of the Western Cape Rally Championship scheduled for Saturday 7 July 2018. John and Weston Peiser (father and son) drove the rally of their career to win the first CPMCC Darling Rally in their Speed Pro Cycling Equipment 425 WPMC S5 Subaru Impreza GT 2.0 Turbo 4x4. Driving the very first Subaru to ever rally in South Africa had them realize that nothing short of absolutely flat-out from the start will give them any chance of beating their more modern opposition....
