The CPMCC Swartland Regional Rally is GO with twelve entries confirmed and another potentially joining for Saturday

Hi all

As you all know we have a event on 11 April but up to now we still only have 9 entries. As you all know if we don’t have 12 entries we don’t have a championship for 2015.we as the members of CPMCC has decided that if we don’t have 12 entries by Wednesday 8 April it leaves us no choice but to cancel the event to cut our losses to the minimum as what is the sense in running the event if the championship is down the drain?

I appeal to all competitors that hasn’t entered yet to make a effort to enter as we as organisers go to great lengths to organise events and a lot of time money and effort goes into organising so the ball is in your court guys.Cut off time will be Wednesday 8 April at 1800.

Regards

WP Round 2 of 6

Hopefully everyone simply considered 1 April a jokers occasion and that they still have serious intentions to enter the CPMCC Rally on Saturday 11 April 2015? Currently only nine teams present for the 09h00 start of what is normally quite a nice event.

Something that once again needs to be stressed to all concerned is that the region can ill afford three major events on the same date with the "new" Super Series at Killarney taking care of most of the spectators on 11 April the balance of interest will certainly suffer from the Stellenbosch Arshow and the CPMCC Rally being on the same date?

No jokes! The numbers function for the 11 April 2015 CPMCC Swartland Regional Rally will take place on 1 April 2015 at the CPMCC Rollbar Killarney 21h00.

Thank you to Automark Toyota Malmesbury and Metric Steel Blackheath for their valued support of round 2 of the 2015 Western Province Rally Championship. First car starts from Automark Toyota Malmesbury at 10h00 on Saturday 11 April 2015.

Unfortunately date changes are still the norm and the 18 April date have now bee moved a week earlier to 11 April.

Normally quite a testing event, especially should it rain shortly before or during this event. It does bring a different character to the event and normally an interesting result to keep interest alive in the sport.

Dirkie and Marthilda Boonstra made history when they became the first husband and wife combination to win a round of the Western Province Rally Championship in the Owen Ashley created ex-works Fiat Abarth 131 powered by a Leyland Rover V8 3.5 engine in August of 1983, the Somerset West Motor Club organized Knowles Rally.

At the time regional rallies (8 per annum) generally started late...

The Black Land (Swartland) is known as such due to the colour of the endemic Elytropappus rhinocerotis in the winter time. It is neather winter nor wet but Huntigowk Day is a reality and come Saturday 1 April 2017 a few new “noddy’s” may be found in the Swartland Renosterbos!

Winning is, contrary to popular belief, not always defined as finishing first and in rallying...

Saturday 1 April 2017 dawned dry and dusty in the Swartland but despite the desperate need for water in the Western Cape an air of optimism had everyone anticipating an exciting second round of the Western Cape Special Stage Rally Championship. After all, the Cape Peninsula Motorcycle and Car Club is the second oldest motor club in South Africa and the Swartland will always be the spiritual...
