Strike 2 for Lightning Leon

Rather cool and misty weather welcomed the Witzenberg Motorklub Gymkhana enthusiasts on Saturday 1 May 2019, but an overnight change of venue made sure that everyone was soon busy setting up an alternate route.

With everyone well prepared for a traditional single lane event in the Old Pit Complex of the Killarney International Raceway the late afternoon decision to move the event into the G-Energy / Quarry / Turn 2 / CHD Oval area came as quite an unexpected curved ball.

Lightning Leon Strikes - Again!

Gymkhana enthusiasts were treated to another stunning event on Thursday 21 March 2019 when Wheel Tech added their name in support of the 132nd Witzenberg Motorklub Gymkhana at the home of Western Cape motorsport – the Killarney International Raceway.

Clerk of the Course, Pierre van der Westhuizen, and Abdul Sayed leading their new team of officials as hosts of this dual lane event in the Turn 2 / G-Energy corner section of the circuit. The flexibility of the sport part of the challenge as it becomes an entirely new event every time.

4 Hours for 4 Seconds

A busy motorsport weekend with the MOTUL FIM World Superbikes chasing after a dominant Alvaro Bautista on the Aruba.IT Ducati Panigale V4 R at the Chang International Thailand circuit Thailand, Fernando Alonso set the fastest time ever to claim pole for the Sebring 12 Hour 1000km in the No 8 Gazoo Toyota RS050 Hybrid and going on to win the race convincingly. Gazoo Toyota Hilux entries started first and second in the SACCS Mpumalanga 400 with Henk Lategan ahead of Giniel de Villiers with the latter taking victory.

The opening round of the 2019 Witzenberg Motorklub Gymkhana Championship will see competitors and spectators congregate at the Killarney International Raceway in Milnerton on Human Rights Day, Thursday 21 March 2019.
